High-performance damping for big travel
The Manitous Long-Travel X-Vert Forks are made for mountain bikers who want to go off the beaten path. The X-VertAir is the lightest in the series, weighing 17 kg. It has 10 cm travel. Manitous TPC+ damping system and a position-sensitive compression valve are located inside the sliders. This keeps the fork free to move until you really smack something. The top and bottom of your right leg have rebound and compression clickers. On the left is an air spring.
Standard equipment includes magnesium lowers and taper butted aluminum legs.
RIDING IMPRESSIONS
MBAs staff was blown away by the X-Vert Airs performance?especially when we really let in hang out. The Manitou fork was able to steer us through bumpy turns with no hesitation. We never felt that we were losing travel. We could feel some bearing play in the sliders when the front brake was on. However, this did not affect the performance rating. Both the rebound and compression dials worked well. The fork is reliable enough to allow the dials to be placed in the middle. The damping is perfect and the fork feels like a spring. Even when you’re jogging, there is no feeling that the fork is riding on an airspring.
